Hi. I've just listened to The Pipettes for the first time. I really like their nostalgia sound. At the same time though, I don't see how they can progress with their music. If you're going for music that sort of refers back to the 1950's or 1960's and your group image is much the same, once that's what you're known for, well, there's nowhere else to go. I'm not saying this is a bad thing. There are plenty of girl bands and other artists who have had a successful formula and stuck with it. That's all they wanted, a couple of years in the limelight and then they faded away once the audience got tired of the novelty. The girls in The Pipettes are genuinely good singers and it would be a shame if they limited themselves to their present act. I think they are in danger of becoming a fast fading novelty before their career gets a chance to really take off.
