Arabesque
This German disco group were established in 1977. They were very popular in Japan and Russia through the early 1980's. Arabesque split in 1984, although an original member toured with a new line-up using the Arabesque name as recently as 2006.

Baccara
The female duo of former flamenco artists from Spain emerged in 1977 to have a major hit with their debut single 'Yes Sir, I Can Boogie'. Baccara split in 1980 after four album and several single and compilation releases. The two original members of the group, Mayte Mateos and Maria Mendiola, separately continue to use the name Baccara with new partners.

Dolly Dots
This Dutch girl group had several hit records between 1979 and 1988. The Dolly Dots broke up in 1988 but there have since been a musical based on their career, TV specials and a Reunion concert series from 25th to 27th May 2007. We may yet hear more from Dolly Dots.

The Go-Go's
Although formed in 1978, the Go-Go's rose to fame in the early 1980's, and had double platinum hit with their debut album 'Beauty And The Beat'. Although disbanded in 1985, the group have reunited for concerts, most recently in 2006.

Luv
This trio from The Netherlands was established in 1977 and by the time of their break up in 1981 had achieved major success throughout mainland Europe, South Africa and Mexico. Luv went on to issue greatest hits compilation albums and following previous reunions still perform live and on TV.

Maywood
This Dutch duo started out in 1979. Maywood went on to release more than 30 singles during their career. A 4 CD boxed set of their recordings was released exclusively in The Netherlands in 2006.

Pointer Sisters
This American Grammy Award winning trio from Oakland, California performed together for more than three decades. Their first Album 'The Pointer Sisters' was released in 1973. They had major hits throughout the 1980’s including 'Slow Hand' 'I'm So Excited' and 'Automatic'. The Pointer Sisters have won several awards, but have not released any new material in recent years.

Silver Convention
A girl group from Germany, Silver Convention were active between 1974 and 1979. They represented Germany at the 1977 Eurovision song contest but only managed to come in 8th place in the final.

Star Sisters
This Dutch trio were very popular in the 1980's, having 6 European hits. Star Sisters were a pop dance group who also did nostalgia covers, most notably of The Andrews Sisters, singing harmonies from the 1940's and 1950's.
