  • The Beverley Sisters
    British female vocal trio was extremely popular during the 1950s and 1960s. The girl group was awarded an MBE by the Queen of the UK in 2006.

  • Blossoms
    Group started life as The Dreamers at Fremont High School, Los Angeles in 1954. As well as releasing their own singles from 1955 on, the Blossoms girl group were in demand as backing singers for several other artists. Their career continued through the 1970's when they toured with Elvis Presley and into the 1980's when they supported Tom Jones.

  • Bobbettes
    The group began recording on the Atlantic records label in early 1957. They were to write ten of their first eighteen recorded songs and work with several labels over the years. The Bobettes continued to work into the 1970's touring the US and the UK.

  • Chantels
    Initially, the Chantels sang together as students in the mid 1950's at the St. Anthony of Padua School in the Bronx. They became one of the first R&B girl groups to have nationwide success, having several hit singles with the original line-up disbanding in 1970.

  • Cookies
    The group had their first top ten hit with 'In Paradise' in 1956. The Cookies worked also as backing singers for several artists and for a time became Ray Charles Raelettes. Their final single was released in April 1967.

  • Shirelles
    One of the first girl groups of the late 1950’s and early 1960's. They were also one of the few that wrote their own hits. The single 'I Met Him on a Sunday' launched their career in 1958, and three versions of the group, each using the name The Shirelles and with one original member continued performing into the 1990's.

  • Vernon Girls
    In 1958 the choir of the Vernons Pools Company in Liverpool was reduced to 16 professional members. They were then hired by Jack Good to appear in his rock and roll TV show 'Oh Boy'. As well as appearing on stage and Television the Vernons Girls had a number of hit records in the early 1960’s.
